Sparking Dreams Across Asia Pacific: How FWD and JA Are Empowering the Next Generation
Preparing young people for a financially confident future requires more than knowledge. It takes meaningful experiences, trusted partnerships, and a commitment to reaching communities where support can make the greatest difference.
Across Asia Pacific, FWD Group and JA Asia Pacific are working together to empower young people through financial literacy and life skills education through JA SparktheDream. The regional partnership spans seven JA Member nations and territories, bringing practical financial education to thousands of young people and helping them develop the confidence to make informed decisions about their future.
One example of this impact can be seen in Malaysia, where FWD Malaysia partnered with JA Malaysia to deliver JA SparktheDream, a nationwide financial literacy programme for secondary school students.

The initiative reached 1,693 students across 14 secondary schools in Peninsular Malaysia, supported by the enthusiastic participation of FWD employee volunteers. Through interactive workshops, practical activities, group discussions, and educational games, students explored key financial concepts such as budgeting, saving, and responsible money management in ways that were both engaging and relevant to their daily lives.
The programme reflects a shared vision between FWD and JA: equipping young people with the skills they need to thrive in an increasingly complex world. Beyond classroom learning, FWD volunteers played an important role in bringing real-world perspectives to students, creating meaningful connections and inspiring future aspirations.
Since launching its financial literacy initiatives in Malaysia, FWD has reached more than 8,000 students nationwide, with plans to benefit over 10,000 students by the end of 2027.
While each market brings its own local insights and approach, the goal remains the same across the region: helping young people build the knowledge, confidence, and resilience needed to achieve their dreams. Through the ongoing partnership between FWD Group and JA Asia Pacific, programmes like JA SparktheDream are creating lasting impact, one young person at a time.
